Safe Driving is a Blessing for One’s Self and Others

Let us start by strongly denouncing a misleading notion that has, for decades, allowed the continued hurting and killing of millions of our people. Vehicle or traffic mishaps are loosely termed accidents, implying they are inevitable. The same mindset does not describe hurricanes, volcanoes, and earthquakes.  Wrong, traffic wrecks are overwhelmingly caused by driving errors due to an intentional lack of essential knowledge, very unlike the other mishaps.

Why should vehicle drivers search for safe driving information and, after fully grasping it, devote themselves to including it in their driving habits? After all, American driving is universal, with 91% of adult Americans having a driver’s license. In addition, virtually all of those remaining are included as passengers, dependent on their acquaintance’s safe driving.

Most of the several hundred million daily American drivers hate recalling the danger they are subjecting themselves and their loved ones to while seemingly straightforward driving. However, the figures proclaiming unsafe driving’s dreadful dangers are astonishing, with over 13,000 accidents, hurting over 4,000 people, resulting in more than 100 deaths every day. The suddenness of accidental deaths is even more hurtful by the lack of time for loved ones to prepare and accept the loss of loved ones emotionally.

Only slightly less upsetting, vast numbers of wreck victims sustain permanent disability, including paralysis from spinal cord injuries, amputations, or sensory loss of sight.  As drivers, we need to be sensible about safe driving, because drivers account for three-fourths of deaths.

Careful driving is safe driving, and an excellent example of a driver’s mistaken beliefs is the belief that being closer to home is safer because I know the area better. Thus, I can let my guard down. Wrong because, in doing so, more than half of the wrecks are within five miles of the mistaken driver’s home. Even more dreadful and alarming is that more than two-thirds of wrecks occur within ten miles. The home area should be termed “Wreck Land”.

Even if the least harmful to people, the unharmful wreck’s cost to property damage alone averages over $5,000 per accident with injury, thus wrecks remain very undesirable economically. Our government’s reliable statistics show that over 90% of these outlandish, undesirable incidents are preventable by learning safe driving and putting it into practice.

Maximum safety to protect everyone from the over 60% of drivers who test as unsafe. Thus, American driving safety requires our defensive driving, but even better, we should encourage relatives and friends to become safe drivers and inspire others to do the same. In doing so, you can be proud to have significantly helped others. Please send this to ten or more others so they can join us. Because, if we can get a significant social movement going a terrific beneficial happening will be the result.  Should a beneficial crusade be started
